ITR Filing 2025: If you are an income taxpayer, then this news can be very special for you. Less than 1 month is left to file income tax returns for the financial year 2024-2025. This time, the Income Tax Department has fixed September 15 as the last date. As this deadline is approaching, lines of worry are visible on the faces of taxpayers and tax professionals.

On this, the  Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and tax experts of the country have again demanded that the government extend the deadline. They say that at this time, taxpayers and CAs will not be able to file returns on time. GCCI has written a letter to CBDT on this and demanded that the deadline be extended to 31 October. So that taxpayers and professionals do not have to face problems. Pressure is being put on the government regarding this demand. Anyway, officially, 15th September is the last date. But in view of the technical problems, the government can extend this deadline.

GCCI put forth its point

According to media reports, GCCI has said that the utility forms, which are usually available in April, have been released in July 2025. Many forms remained pending till the first week of August. ITR-5 utility has come on 8th August. In this, very little time has been given for preparation and filing. Problems like system error, login failure, and timeout are constantly occurring while uploading the ITR and tax audit report. Along with this, due to errors and delayed updates in Form 265AS, TIS, and AIS, many types of difficulties are being faced in preparing the return.

Problems of tax professionals have increased

Let us tell you, according to many CAs and tax professionals, due to many errors on the portal, it has become very difficult to upload returns. Many times, even after uploading the return, an error is visible or there is a problem in updating the data. After this ITR cannot be filed on time.
