8th Pay Commission Update: All the central employees eagerly await the formation of the 8th Pay Commission. It is believed that the government will soon form this new pay commission. Regarding this, work is also going on at a fast pace at the departmental level. The 8th Pay Commission is likely to be implemented by next year, so a bumper salary increase will be seen.
It is being told that this time the increase in the pay scale will depend largely on the fitment factor. It is likely to be between 1.90 to 1.95. According to this, it is believed that a bumper increase can be seen in the salary scale of the employees. Actually, the government had announced the formation of the 8th Pay Commission in the month of January. But it has not been formed yet.
How much will the fitment factor reach?
As soon as the 8th Pay Commission is implemented, the fitment factor can be increased by 2.86 times. On this basis, the basic salary increase will likely be up to Rs 57,200. However, according to the source update, the fitment factor is expected to remain below 2.0. The government can announce it to be between 1.90 and 1.95.
If, for some reason, the fitment factor increases by 2.86, on this basis, the basic salary hike is likely to be Rs 57,200. On the other hand, sources also say that the government can introduce a different formula to maintain inflation.
How much did the salary increase in the last commission?
If we talk about the fitment factor in the sixth pay commission in the year 2006, then the total was kept at 1.86. Exactly ten years after this, in the year 2016, the fitment factor was kept at 2.57 in the seventh pay commission. However, the actual salary increase was only 14.2 per cent.
The reason for this is that most of the fitment factor of the 7th Pay Commission was spent only on adjusting the dearness allowance. At the same time, after the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, the basic salary was increased by about 54 per cent.
For information, let us tell you that the picture will be obvious only after the formation of the 8th Pay Commission. If it is formed soon, a decision can be taken to implement it in 2026 or early 2027.
