How the e-Challan System Works
- The e-challan system works digitally. It makes traffic fines faster and clear.
- Detect Violations – Police catch violations in two ways:
- Manually, using hand-held devices.
- Automatically, using CCTV cameras at main locations.
- They record the vehicle number, type of violation, time, and place.
- Issue e-Challan – After detecting a violation, the system makes an e-challan.
- If an officer records it manually, the e-challan is made immediately.
- If detected by CCTV, the system generates it automatically.
- The e-challan links to the vehicle number and owner’s mobile number.
- Notify Violator – The violator gets an SMS with the violation details, fine amount, and payment steps.
- Track and Pay – You can check the e-challan on the transport or police website. Enter your vehicle or challan number. You can pay using net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI.
- Payment Confirmation – After payment, the system sends a digital receipt to your phone. You can download or print it as proof.
