GST 2.0 Update: The central government has provided significant relief by reducing GST rates, which will directly benefit consumers and businesses. Most importantly, GST rates are set to come into effect tomorrow, September 22, 2025. Following the government’s announcement, many companies have announced reductions in the prices of their products.
Many shopkeepers have not yet reduced the rates on their goods. Some shopkeepers and customers are also waiting for the 22nd. If a shopkeeper continues to sell goods at the old rates despite the GST reduction, you can freely complain. Action can even be taken against the shopkeeper upon receiving a complaint.

The government is fully prepared to ensure that the benefits of reduced GST rates reach consumers directly. From September 22, 2025, a separate category for GST-related complaints will be created on the National Customer Helpline and the INGRAM portal.
This includes cars, bikes, banking, white goods like TVs and refrigerators, e-commerce, FMCG, and all other special categories. If, for any reason, a shopkeeper or customer is not passing on the benefits of the reduced GST rates from September 22nd, you can complain. You can easily lodge a complaint on the consumer helpline number 1915. Your complaint will be resolved easily here.
Where to complain
If a seller does not reduce prices after the GST rate reduction, you can easily complain. You can send an SMS or WhatsApp to the customer helpline mobile number 8800001915. Customers can also register their problems on 1800114000. Complaints are only available between 8 am and 8 pm.
You can also lodge complaints through the National Customer Helpline app and the Umang app. This app also allows you to track your complaints. You can also complain by registering yourself by visiting the Ministry’s website https://consumerhelpline.gov.in.
