The Haryana government has launched a new grant scheme to encourage farmers in the state to engage in horticulture. Under this scheme, farmers will be provided financial assistance for cultivating fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices, and aromatic plants. The government aims to encourage farmers in the state to shift from traditional crops to alternative crops, thereby increasing their income and diversifying agriculture.

Lakhs of rupees will be provided as grants for planting new orchards
Under this scheme of the Horticulture Department, farmers will receive assistance ranging from Rs. 24,500 to Rs. 1,40,000 per acre for planting new orchards. This grant will be transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts. However, this assistance will only be provided for the cultivation of a maximum of five acres. Farmers cultivating horticulture on land larger than this will not be eligible for benefits under the scheme.
Different rates of assistance for vegetable, flower, and spice cultivation
The government has fixed different rates of assistance for different crops. Farmers cultivating vegetables under the integrated model will receive a subsidy of ₹15,000 per acre, while farmers belonging to the Scheduled Caste category will receive assistance of ₹25,500 per acre.
Financial assistance of ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 per acre will be provided for spice cultivation, ₹8,000 to ₹40,000 per acre for floriculture, and ₹8,000 per acre for aromatic plants.
Portal and Required Documents for Registration
Farmers wishing to avail the benefits of this scheme must register on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal and the ‘Hortnet’ portal (hortnet.hort.haryana.gov.in). Applicant farmers must have documents such as a family identity card, bank account details, and a Scheduled Caste certificate, if applicable.

Objective and Impact of the Scheme
The main objective of this subsidy scheme is to promote agricultural diversification in the state and stabilize farmers’ income.
