Liqour- Government took a big decision regarding Liqour. To curb the social problems arising from alcohol in rural areas, the Haryana government has now taken a big decision. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini’s government has approved the Excise Policy 2025-27. This will reduce the availability of alcohol in rural areas.

The cabinet of the Haryana state government has approved the excise policy for 2025-27. According to this, now liquor sub-dealers will not be allowed to open shops in villages with a population of 500 or less. At the same time, strict restrictions have also been imposed on the advertisement of liquor in the state.

Steps taken for the betterment of society

According to the official statement, this excise policy was approved in the cabinet meeting held here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini. Many reforms have been made in this policy. The government has aligned the excise policy year with the financial year in the state. Now the new policy will be valid for 2 financial years.

This new policy will be applicable from 12 June 2025 to 31 March 2027. It will be applicable for a period of about 21.5 months. After this, in future it will be implemented as per the April-March financial year.

The government has described the decision of not allowing liquor sub-dealers to open shops in villages with a population of 500 or less as an important decision taken at the social level. To some extent, this decision of the government will curb alcohol addiction in rural areas.

Apart from this, strict restrictions have also been imposed on the advertisement of alcohol. All types of advertisements are now clearly prohibited in licensed areas. Heavy penalties have been provided for violation of this.
