The country’s largest public sector bank, State Bank of India, is launching a new and upgraded version of its digital banking platform, YONO 2.0, tomorrow, December 15th. This new version is being introduced after the YONO app completed eight years. According to reports, SBI Chairman Challa Srinivasulu Shetty stated that YONO 2.0 aims to provide customers with a more convenient, secure, and personalized digital experience, making banking services even more convenient.

Millions of customers will shift to YONO 2.0

Approximately 100 million existing customers will be transferred to the new YONO 2.0 platform. This app has been designed to provide seamless services to approximately 200 million customers in the future. According to Shetty, with the help of technology, the bank is now able to add new customers at a much lower cost than a branch, while still providing a personalized experience.

How will the customer experience change?

YONO 2.0 will allow customers to choose their preferred banking channel. Mobile banking will no longer require pre-registration for internet banking. Customers will be able to access all essential services directly through the app. The bank says this change will provide users with greater convenience, trust, and control.

Stronger security features

YONO 2.0 has been strengthened in terms of security. iOS users will have Face ID support, while Android users will have biometric login. MPIN and other secure login options will also be available, allowing each user to use the app according to their preferences.

YONO 2.0 is being introduced with a multilingual design, allowing people from different parts of the country to use the app in their own languages. The bank’s goal is to make digital banking easy and understandable for every Indian. Simply put, YONO 2.0 is designed to be seamlessly integrated and accessible to as many people as possible.
