Gold – Silver Rate Hike: After recent declines, gold and silver prices have started to rise again. Significant increases were observed in gold and silver prices on the first day of this week. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), on Monday, February 9th, the price of 999 purity gold increased by ₹3,515, reaching ₹1,55,593 per 10 grams. Previously, on February 6th, the price was recorded at ₹1,52,078 per tola. Regarding silver prices, the price increased by ₹16,826, reaching ₹2,61,755 per kilogram on February 9th. Last week, the price was recorded at ₹2,44,929 at market close.
It’s important to note that the gold and silver rates released by IBJA do not include GST and making charges. Therefore, the prices increase further after adding GST and making charges. Thus, today, February 9th, after the addition of GST, the price of gold reached ₹160,260. Platinum also increased by ₹3,112, reaching ₹66,852. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), 23-carat gold opened at ₹154,970 per 10 grams today. A jump of ₹3,501 was recorded in its price. Additionally, 22-carat gold also become more expensive today, reaching ₹142,523 per 10 grams. In addition, 18-karat gold has increased by Rs 2636 to reach Rs 116695 per tola. Meanwhile, 14-karat gold opened at Rs 91022 per 10 grams after a surge.
