Free Ration August distribution date: Ration card holders should know that the date for distribution of free ration for the month of August has arrived. Free ration will be distributed from 20 July to 10 August. Eligible household card holders will be distributed two kg wheat and three kg fortified rice (total 5 kg) per unit. Antyodaya card holders will be distributed 14 kg wheat and 21 kg fortified rice (total 35 kg) free of cost. Card holders who have not been able to get ration through Aadhaar authentication will be distributed free ration through mobile OTP verification on August 10.
A comprehensive campaign is being run to ensure food security in Uttar Pradesh. Under the National Food Security Act, the UP government is issuing ration cards to every eligible poor by identifying them. The number of Antyodaya card beneficiaries in the state is more than 1.29 crore. So far, eligible household ration cards of more than 3.16 crore families and Antyodaya ration cards of more than 40.73 lakh families have been made in the state. The government’s goal is to provide ration to every needy and for this, eligibility is being identified by running a campaign.
The Yogi government has sanctioned a huge amount of Rs 179.42 crore to strengthen the fair price distribution system under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). This amount has been sanctioned for the smooth distribution of ration material from lifting, handling and inter-state movement to consumers, which will give new impetus to the efficiency of the Food and Logistics Department.
