Free Ration 2025: The central and state governments are implementing numerous government schemes to benefit the general public. Currently, the government is implementing a free ration scheme. If you are also taking advantage of the free ration, please be informed that millions of ration card holders in Uttar Pradesh are set to receive free ration. This time, sugar will be provided in addition to wheat and rice. If you do not receive rice, maize will be provided. The dates for ration distribution have also been announced. The Food and Logistics Department has issued instructions to the District Magistrates and District Supply Officers of all districts. Sugar and maize will be distributed to ration card holders from December 10th to 28th.

In which districts will additional rations be available?
Under the National Food Security Act, Antyodaya beneficiaries in districts such as Agra, Aligarh, Auraiya, Bahraich, Ballia, Badaun, Bulandshahr, Etah, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Firozabad, Gonda, Hapur, Hardoi, Hathras, Kannauj, Kanpur Nagar, Kasganj, Mainpuri, Mirzapur, Rampur, Sambhal, and Unnao will receive 14 kg of wheat, 16 kg of fortified rice, and 5 kg of maize. In other districts, 14 kg of wheat and 21 kg of rice will be provided free of charge.
New Provisions for Sugar Distribution
Antyodaya cardholders will be provided with three kg of sugar from October to December. The price per kg has been fixed at ₹18, so a total of three kg of sugar will be distributed for ₹54. This amount will be required to be deposited by the cardholder at the time of distribution.
Ration Distribution Timings
Distributions will be made at ration shops from 8 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 6 pm. Eligible household cardholders will receive two kilograms of wheat and three kilograms of fortified rice. District supply officers have been instructed to ensure that no cardholder faces any difficulties during distribution.
Antyodaya cardholders receive three months’ worth of grain
Food and Logistics Commissioner Anamika Singh issued the order stating that Antyodaya cardholders will receive three months’ worth of rations from October to December at one time. In blocks with single-stage transportation systems, the supply of food grains to all ration shops will be completed by December 9th. Nodal officers will be appointed to inspect the ration and sugar available at each shop. Under the supervision of the SDM, nodal officers will physically verify the distribution process.
