Now, it will not only be used for crossing toll plazas but will also function as a multi-purpose digital wallet. This move is based on the experience of successful trials conducted over six months, which demonstrated that FASTag can be even more convenient for cashless payments.

Pay for petrol and parking

Under this new expansion, FASTag holders will now be able to pay for fuel at petrol pumps. In addition, payment of fees at parking lots in cities and on highways will also be possible through FASTag. The ministry aims to make travel simpler and faster for commuters, freeing them from the hassle of cash

Electronic vehicle charging facility

Under the new scheme, payments can also be made using FASTag at electric vehicle charging stations. The facility to use FASTag will also be available at select locations for vehicle maintenance services and food outlets. This initiative will save both time and effort for drivers and passengers.
