FASTag Rules- If you are traveling on the highway by putting FASTag of another vehicle in your car to save toll, then now you should be very careful. Doing this will now be considered a direct violation of the rules and this trickery can prove to be costly for you. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) have tightened the rules related to Fastag.
If you put the Fastag of another vehicle in your car and get caught, not only will you be fined, but your Fastag will also be blacklisted. This means that the next time you pass through the toll plaza, your tag will not be scanned, your vehicle will not be able to move forward and on the contrary double toll charge can also be levied.
Only one fastag will be valid for one vehicle
Fastag was introduced with the aim of passing through toll plazas on national highways quickly and without interruption. But now the government has started keeping a strict eye on it. The government has made it clear that only one fastag will be valid for each vehicle. And using it in any other vehicle will be considered illegal.
If someone is caught doing this, that fastag will be immediately blacklisted. This means that no payment will be taken from that tag and you will have to pay double the toll for that vehicle. Last year, when the government implemented the ‘One Vehicle – One Fastag’ rule, it was reported that many vehicle owners try to save toll by using the same tag in different vehicles again and again. This not only causes problems in the toll system, but also affects the security and transparency of the tag system.
Now, as soon as any such tag is caught, it will be immediately blacklisted by putting it in the category of “loose tag”. That is, this tag will be considered illegal in the system. If you have two vehicles, then it is mandatory for you to get separate fastags for both. Every fastag is linked to the vehicle number and this information is also recorded in the toll system.
As soon as the QR code of the tag is scanned at the toll, the complete details of the vehicle come in the system. In such a situation, if you put the tag of someone else’s vehicle, then it will not only be considered fraud, but a direct violation of the rules, on which strict action will be taken.
