If you are receiving a government pension, submit your Life Certificate by October 30th. Failure to do so could result in your pension being stopped. This isn’t just a formal process, but a necessary step implemented by the government to ensure transparency and prevent fraudulent pensions. Pensioners are required to submit this certificate every year to ensure that the pension is being received by the right person. Often, pensions are stopped due to a lack of information or delays. The government has now made this process much easier and digital, meaning you can submit a Life Certificate from the comfort of your home, using your mobile phone.

Purpose of Submitting a Life Certificate

According to information, the primary purpose of this process is to allow the government to determine whether pensioners are alive or not. This prevents fraud and ensures that genuine pensioners receive benefits. The month of November is considered a special time for this process, as pensioners across the country submit their Life Certificates during this time.

Where can you submit your Life Certificate?

Previously, pensioners had to go to the bank or post office to submit their certificates, which led to long queues. But now, you can do this online from home – you only need three things: your Aadhaar number, mobile number, and a biometric device. You can submit it through the Jeevan Pramaan portal or the Jeevan Pramaan app.
