DA Hike: Government employees get a gift from the state government. The Bhupendra Patel government of Gujarat on Wednesday gave good news to its employees by increasing their dearness allowance. This increase will be applicable from January 2025 and the arrears of the last three months will also be given with this month’s salary. A decision in this regard was taken in the state cabinet meeting held today under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister.
During this, the state government decided to give dearness allowance on the lines of the Center to the state government employees who are getting the benefit of the 6th and 7th Pay Commission and to provide the benefit of this increase from January 1, 2025. According to the government, a total of 4.78 lakh employees of the state and about 4.81 lakh retired employees will get the benefit of this increase.
State Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel gave information about this by posting on social media. He informed that the dearness allowance of the employees receiving the 7th Pay Commission has been increased by 2%, while the dearness allowance of the employees availing the benefit of the 6th Pay Commission has been increased by 6 percent.
The CM said in his post that the difference (arrears) of dearness allowance for three months from 1 January 2025 to 31 March 2025 will be paid in one installment with the salary of April 2025. According to the Chief Minister’s post, a total of 4.78 lakh employees of the state government, Panchayat Seva and others and about 4.81 lakh retired employees i.e. pensioners will get the benefit of this increase in dearness allowance.
The state government will pay a total of Rs 235 crore to the employees as arrears of three months and an additional Rs 946 crore in the form of salary-allowances-pension. On the other hand, state government spokesperson and Health Minister Rishikesh Patel said that instructions have also been given by the Finance Department to issue necessary orders for the implementation of this employee-friendly decision taken in the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Patel.
