Good news for pensioners. EPS-95 Aandolan Samiti, a group representing EPS-95 pensioners, shared on Saturday that Union Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has promised to take swift action on their main concerns. The organization stated that the Labor Minister is seriously considering the issues faced by 78 lakh pensioners nationwide and is committed to finding solutions.
Pensioners’ main concerns
The EPS-95 National Struggle Committee (NAC) has brought several key issues to the government’s attention, including:
1. Raising the minimum pension.
2. Providing free medical services for pensioners and their spouses.
3. Streamlining the application process for higher pension benefits.
Minister’s commitment to quick action
NAC National President Commander Ashok Raut mentioned that during a recent meeting with the Labor and Finance Ministers, there was a constructive conversation about increasing the minimum pension. However, pensioners are feeling let down since there was no announcement regarding this in the Union Budget for 2025-26.
Following this, a significant meeting took place on Friday between the Labor Minister and the NAC delegation, where Mandaviya promised to make a solid decision regarding the pensioners’ demands.
Mr. Mandaviya has shown support for the long-standing requests of 78 lakh EPS-95 pensioners nationwide, according to a statement from the pensioners’ organization.
The EPS-95 Agitation Committee for pensioners announced on Saturday (February 22, 2025) that Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has promised to take quick action on their requests.
