Now, a new UAN will not be available if a PF employee changes their job. Meaning your old number will remain with you throughout your professional life. With this, everything from PF transfer to pension will be easier than before. On the other hand, now a new UAN number cannot be issued without FS authentication technology. Why is FAT necessary?
EPFO has now made FAT necessary to make the process of generating a Universal Account Number through the Umang app secure. Meaning now, Aadhaar card or KYC will not work. It is also very important that your face is scanned and registered in the system. This will completely curb the problem of fake accounts and duplicate UANs.

The old employee will not be given a new UAN. If the employee joins a new job, the old UAN number will continue to work. Earlier, a new UAN was given upon changing the company. Their provident fund records used to get scattered. Now this is not going to happen.

Know what benefits the employees will get from this
The entire PF record is going to be linked to a single UAN number.
Employees will have ease in PF transfer.
After this, there is not going to be any confusion about pension and withdrawal in future.
Then the process of data tracking and verification will become easy.
For information, let us tell you that EPFO has taken this step for the purpose of authentication and error-free data. This will not only benefit the employees but will also make the process of managing the PF system very easy for companies and the government. The effect of this new rule of EPFO will be visible immediately.
