EPFO Update – The number of PF employees across the country is increasing annually. Private companies open PF accounts for private employees. These PF accounts are monitored by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation. The Central Government provides interest to PF employees every year. How much interest can be received?

The Central Government may approve a 9.25% interest rate for the financial years 2025 and 2026. The rate will be 1% higher than last year, which will be a boost for employees. Last time, the government transferred 8.25% interest to their accounts. If an employee has ₹3 lakh in their PF account, they can earn up to ₹28,000 in interest.

Interest will be calculated based on the total EPF balance. If there is more or less money in the EPF account, interest will be paid accordingly. However, no one has officially revealed the interest amount yet. The government may open its coffers during the general budget session.

A large number of PF employees will benefit from the government’s interest. According to a report, more than 75 million employees will benefit.
