New Delhi: Did you know that the EPFO frequently introduces new rules and regulations for its PF subscribers, which yield significant benefits on a large scale? Now, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is set to launch a new web portal, ‘e-Prāpti,’ very soon. This initiative will provide immense convenience to PF subscribers.
🎯 Key Features of the Portal
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| 🔐 Verification Method | Aadhaar-based identity authentication |
| 📋 Primary Function | Access & reactivate old/dormant PF accounts |
| 🔗 UAN Linking | Connect old accounts to Universal Account Number |
| 👤 Profile Update | Update personal details post-reactivation |
| 📄 Documentation | Reduced manual paperwork requirements |
| 🔮 Future Scope | Expansion to additional member categories |
Members will be able to monitor and reactivate their old, dormant PF accounts through this platform. Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya, shared this information on Wednesday. He stated that the portal would operate using an Aadhaar-based identity verification system.
Through this portal, subscribers will be able to access their old EPF accounts—specifically those that are not currently linked to a Universal Account Number (UAN). Once these accounts are linked to a UAN and reactivated, members will also be able to update their personal profiles.
EPFO Took This Decision in 2014
It may come as a surprise to learn that the EPFO began issuing a unique 12-digit number—the UAN—to every PF subscriber back in 2014. The full name of the new portal, ‘e-Prāpti,’ is the “Employee Provident Fund Aadhaar-Based Access Portal for Tracking Inoperative Accounts.”
In its initial phase, the portal will rely on identity proofs to verify the subscriber’s identity. This will ensure that the system is implemented securely and effectively. Furthermore, there are plans to expand the scope of the portal in the future to include additional categories of members.
New Platform to Boost Transparency and Efficiency
According to Mansukh Mandaviya, the introduction of this new platform will lead to a reduction in manual processes. Documentation requirements will decrease, while transparency and operational efficiency will see a significant boost. During this announcement, he also shared that the EPFO settled a record 8.31 crore claims during the 2025-26 fiscal year—a figure significantly higher than the 6.01 crore claims settled in the previous year.
Of these, 5.51 crore claims were related to partial withdrawals. During this visit, the Labour Minister stated that 71.11 per cent of partial withdrawal claims have been settled automatically within just three days. In comparison, this ratio stood at 59.19 per cent a year ago. Furthermore, 6.68 crore members filed claims without uploading a cheque.
