There is very important news for the employees and account holders of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). If you have not yet completed the process of Universal Account Number (UAN) activation and Aadhaar seeding in bank accounts, then complete it immediately, otherwise you may be deprived of the benefits of the ELI scheme (Employment Linked Incentive Scheme). EPFO has set its last deadline as 30 June 2025.
UAN activation and linking of bank account with Aadhaar is necessary for all employees who want to avail the benefits of the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme (ELI Scheme). This scheme will give an opportunity to unorganized and contract workers to get insurance benefits under ELI schemes. If UAN is not activated, then salaried employees will not be able to avail the benefits of the ELI scheme.

Why is the UAN number necessary
Every EPFO subscriber must have a Universal Account Number (UAN) linked to Aadhaar, which has to be activated by creating a login on the member portal so that many facilities can be availed from a single window. Without activating UAN, you cannot avail the online facilities of EPFO, so it is very important to do it.
