EPFO: Have you misplaced your Universal Account Number (UAN) or have yet to receive it? There’s no need for concern. You can quickly check your Provident Fund (PF) balance through a simple message or a missed call. The UAN consolidates all information related to your Employees’ Provident Fund in one location. Regardless of job changes or company transitions, your PF account remains unchanged and is merely linked to your UAN.

Call from your registered number

If you wish to check your PF balance, you can do so even without your UAN. If the mobile number associated with your PF account is active, you can obtain your balance by making a missed call. To do this, call from your registered number to 011-22901406 or 9966044425. Within moments, you will receive an SMS containing your balance details.

If you are unsure of your UAN, there’s no need to fret! You can check your PF balance in just a few minutes by making a missed call, sending an SMS, or using the UMANG app. It’s important to monitor your hard-earned money, as it rightfully belongs to you.

If the missed call option does not work, you can send a message instead. Simply type EPFOHO UAN ENG and send it to 7738299899. You will receive a response shortly with your PF balance. Note that “ENG” indicates you want the information in English; if you prefer Hindi, use “HIN.” For those who are somewhat tech-savvy, consider downloading the government’s UMANG app. Navigate to the EPFO section and check your balance by entering your UAN. If you do not know your UAN, visit https://unifiedportal mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/, click on “Know your UAN,” and enter your registered mobile number along with some details to receive your UAN via OTP. That’s all there is to it.

Now, there’s no reason to claim ignorance about your PF balance. Whether through a missed call, SMS, or the UMANG app, choose any method to keep track of your hard-earned money. It is your money, and it is your responsibility to manage it.
