New Delhi: The government is now going to simplify several rules for PF (Provident Fund) employees to make things easier for them. By 2026, some rules will be implemented that will make withdrawing PF amounts much simpler for employees. In short, withdrawing PF will become a breeze.

The EPFO (Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation), which manages PF accounts, will soon be launching a BHIM app facility. This will allow employees to easily withdraw their PF money. This will eliminate the need for employees to face any difficulties. This service will be similar to ATM withdrawal services.

Digitalisation is at the heart of the retirement fund body’s initiatives. The EPFO has collaborated with NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) for this purpose. Under this initiative, withdrawals for health, education, and other emergencies can be directly transferred to a UPI-linked bank account. All PF members will be able to benefit from this.

Changes coming soon in PF withdrawals

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation will soon be providing the BHIM app facility to all PF employees. This will allow for instant withdrawal of funds from PF accounts. This move by the EPFO will be very convenient for employees. Under the new initiative, employees can claim advances from their PF for health, education, and other special circumstances.

EPFO officials have also indicated that a cap may be placed on the withdrawal amount, at least initially, to prevent misuse. This means that the entire amount may not be withdrawable through the BHIM app. The RBI (Reserve Bank of India) has set its own limits on UPI withdrawals, but the specific limit for this service has not yet been determined.

Where will the money be transferred?

The approved amount for transfer will be directly deposited into the UPI-linked bank account. Currently, this facility is only available on the BHIM app. Discussions are underway to extend this facility to other UPI applications in the future. PF employees will not face any difficulties in making withdrawals. This initiative by the EPFO is expected to be very effective. No official announcement has been made regarding when the service will be launched.
