There is great news for 7 crore members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). The government has deposited the PF interest amount for the financial year 2024-25. This money has been added to almost all EPF accounts. The work was completed within two months of the Finance Ministry announcing the interest rate.

According to official data, the annual account update was planned for 13.88 lakh establishments with 33.56 crore member accounts this year. Till July 8, interest had been credited to 32.39 crore member accounts of 13.86 lakh establishments. As per official sources, the annual update has been completed for 99.9% of establishments and 96.51% of PF accounts. The remaining accounts will receive the interest amount within this week.

Interest Came Earlier This Year

This time, the process of depositing interest in PF accounts was much faster than last year. Earlier, even after getting approval from the Finance Ministry, it used to take several months to deposit interest in the accounts of EPFO members. In the last financial year, the interest deposit process started in August and was completed in December. But this year, the process has been made faster, so the interest was deposited in most accounts much earlier.

₹4,000 Crore Deposited as Interest

For the financial year 2024-25, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) had announced an interest rate of 8.25% in February 2025. The Finance Ministry gave its official approval on 22 May. After this, an amount of about ₹4,000 crore has been deposited in the accounts of EPFO members as interest on their PF balance.

Interest Rate Announced in February

The interest rate of 8.25% was officially announced on 28 February 2025 for the financial year 2024-25. After this, the Finance Ministry approved the rate on 24 May. Now, the government has started sending this interest amount directly to the PF accounts of members.

Give a missed call to 011-22901406 from your mobile number registered with EPFO.

2. SMS:

Send EPFOHO UAN ENG to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number.

3. Online Passbook:

Go to https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/Login

Enter your UAN, password, and captcha code

Select your PF number to view the passbook and balance

4. Umang App:

You can also check your PF balance using the Umang app by logging in with your UAN.
