The Government of India is making a new Aadhaar app. UIDAI is making this app. People can use it to update Aadhaar details from home. With this app, users can change name, address, and date of birth. The app is not ready now but will launch soon. It will be easy and simple to use. A government official said the app may launch by the end of this year.
What is e-Aadhaar?
A new Aadhaar mobile app will let users update important details like name, address, and date of birth on their phone. This app will reduce the need to visit Aadhaar centers.
The app will use Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Face ID for safe and smooth service. From November, users will only need to go to centers for fingerprint and iris scans. This step will cut paperwork, lower fraud risk, and make the process faster and easier.
What documents will the app support?
UIDAI will fetch data from verified government sources. These include birth certificates, PAN cards, passports, driving licences, ration cards, and MNREGA records. Electricity bills may also be used for address proof.
Aadhaar Good Governance Portal
The Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) has launched this portal to make Aadhaar authentication requests easier. It will speed up approval, improve service, and help more people access Aadhaar benefits.
