The government of Delhi is going to take a massive step under the Ladli Yojana. It is known that through a programme, on October 1, 2025, to payment the pending. As per media reports, 40,000 beneficiaries can receive the payment on this day at Talkatora Stadium. Ladli Yojana is a special scheme launched by the Delhi Government to financially support girl childs in terms of education.
A special initiative by the Delhi Government
The Delhi government launched a special campaign in all 11 districts to address payments pending for the past several months. During this campaign, officials identified girls who hadn’t renewed their applications or had dropped out of school. Many girls hadn’t claimed their benefits due to changing schools or districts. Now, all these cases have been resolved and preparations are underway to make payments to beneficiaries.
The Ladli Scheme was launched on January 1, 2008. Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided to girls born in Delhi for education and empowerment. A benefit of ₹11,000 is provided for institutional births and ₹10,000 for home births. Additionally, ₹5,000 each is provided at the time of admission to classes 1, 6, 9, and 10.
When the money can be withdrawn?
This amount is deposited as an interest-bearing term deposit with SBI Life Insurance Company. This amount can be withdrawn after the girl passes 10th grade or reaches the age of 18. It can be used for higher education, vocational training, or starting a small enterprise. Benefits will be available only to girls born in Delhi and whose families have been living in Delhi for the past three years. The annual family income limit is set at ₹1 lakh, and a maximum of two daughters will be eligible for the scheme.
Furthermore, the girl child must be enrolled in a school approved by the Delhi government, the MCD, or the NDMC. The scheme aims to reduce school dropouts, increase enrollment, and provide financial security to girls.
