Ration Card- Big news for Ration Card holders. The date of Aadhaar seeding and e-KYC of ration card has been extended till 30th June. Earlier its last date was 30th April and only about 65 percent people in the district could get e-KYC done. Now with the extension of the date, there is hope of eKYC of the remaining cards.

Whereas in the rural areas of West Singhbhum district, the biggest problem in doing eKYC of ration card is of network. Due to lack of mobile network in the remote and rural areas of the district, eKYC of ration card was not being done. No step has been taken by the government in that direction.

The Uttar Pradesh government has given a big relief to ration card holders. The deadline for KYC of ration card has been extended till June 30. Earlier this deadline was till April 30. There are a total of 77 ration shops in Zone-5 located in Naini, Prayagraj. 48 new shops have been added after the expansion of the municipal limits. The total number of eligible household and Antyodaya card holders in this zone is 38,661. According to Regional Food Officer Sanjay Kumar, KYC of 80.17 percent card holders has been done so far.

Under the National Food Security Act, the government is providing 5 kg of ration per unit free to eligible household card holders. Antyodaya card holders are getting 17 kg of wheat, 13 kg of rice and 5 kg of millet free per card. The government has instructed all the ration dealers to get the KYC of all the card holders taking ration from them done compulsorily. This step has been taken to bring transparency in ration distribution.
