Bonus Hike – After the railway employees, now the coal workers of Jharkhand have got the gift of bonus. Before Dussehra, Coal India has announced Durga Puja bonus for its employees. This year the employees will get a bonus of Rs 1.03 lakh which is more than last year’s Rs 93750. 2.20 lakh employees of Coal India will benefit from this. In which 72 thousand employees of the state will also be benefited. The special thing is that the total amount of bonus is approximately ₹2100 crore which will be released in the accounts of the employees today, Friday, 26th September.

According to media reports, on September 25th, Coal India management held a meeting with coal union leaders. This decision led to a key performance-linked reward (PLR) bonus for non-executive employees of Coal India Limited (CIL) and its subsidiary companies for the 2024-25 fiscal year. Under this, a total bonus of Rs 1,03,000 will be given to over 200,000 coal workers. 72,000 coal workers in Jharkhand will also receive a bonus of Rs 103,000. This payment will be made on a pro-rata basis.

These employees will get benefits

This bonus will benefit millions of employees of Coal India’s various subsidiary companies, including BCCL, CCL, ECL, CMPD, MCL, NCL, and SECL. Coal workers in Jharkhand will be particularly benefited. An amount of approximately Rs 800 crore will be paid during this period. Of this, BCCL alone will receive approximately Rs 320 crore, and CCL Rs 310 crore.

The Modi government at the Centre has announced a bonus for railway employees before Dussehra. Under this, Rs 1865 crore 68 lakh will be paid to 10 lakh 91 thousand 146 railway employees as productivity linked bonus (PLB) for 78 days. The monthly salary limit for payment of PLB has been fixed at Rs 7000 (basic salary + DA).

The maximum PLB amount payable for each eligible railway employee is Rs 17,951, equivalent to 78 days’ wages. This amount will be given to various categories of railway employees, such as track maintainers, loco pilots, train managers (guards), station masters, supervisors, technicians, technician helpers, pointsmen, ministerial staff, and other Group C employees.
