During UPI transactions, a 4 or 6 digit PIN has to be given. If not, the transaction cannot be made. This is mandatory. This system is to ensure that even if the phone falls into the hands of someone else, he cannot make the transaction. UPI PIN is set through a debit card. Experts say that those who use UPI regularly should change the PIN at regular intervals. This reduces the chances of fraud.
Earlier, UPI PIN could not be changed or set without a debit card. Currently, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has introduced the facility of setting UPI PIN through Aadhaar card. As a result, users can now change UPI PIN without a debit card.
This system has been introduced so that more customers can take advantage of the UPI payment system. However, for this, the phone number must be linked with the Aadhaar card. In addition, the same phone number must also be linked with the bank account.
Only then can the user set UPI PIN through Aadhaar card. Simply put, the same mobile number must be registered with the bank and Aadhaar card. Then you will no longer need a debit card to change or set your UPI PIN. Here is the step-by-step explanation of the whole thing.
