Bus Service- Good news for everyone. DTC’s interstate bus service which was closed for the last fifteen years is going to start again. On 23rd September at 11 am, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will flag off DTC buses running on Delhi- Baraut (UP) intercity route from ISBT Kashmiri Gate. DTC will run buses on 17 routes of six states.

Delhi-Baraut is the first route among the 17 interstate routes in 6 states on which DTC will run buses. DTC will soon start interstate bus service for Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow, Agra, Ayodhya, Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haldwani, Alwar, Jaipur, Bikaner, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Patiala, Jammu, Panipat.

Electric buses will run on short routes

DTC will run air-conditioned electric buses on routes shorter than 200 km. CNG buses will be run on routes longer than 200 km. Initially, 3 DTC buses will run on the Delhi- Baraut route. These buses will run in two shifts in the morning and evening. These will be 12 meter long fully air-conditioned electric buses. The Delhi- Baraut route is short, so the new DTC electric buses that are running inside the city will be run on this route for now. For longer routes, DTC will soon buy more comfortable AC buses with more seats.

E-ticketing will be launched on 23 September

Along with the launch of inter-state bus service on 23 September, digital e-ticketing system will also be launched in Delhi buses. CM Rekha Gupta will launch it. The trial of e-ticketing is currently going on at some depots including Rajghat. All bus conductors will be given E-POS machines equipped with GPS system, which will help in tracking the real time location of the bus, finding the number of buses and also giving information about the arrival of buses at the stop through Google Map.
