The Bihar Election Commission has announced the release of the final voter list prepared under the SIR (Systematic Information Retrieval) process on September 30th. This list is available on the Election Commission’s official website. This list includes the names of all registered voters in the state. Voter data verification has been underway under the SIR process for the past three months.
During this verification process, several amendments were made, and approximately 6.5 million names were removed from the draft voter list. This strict measure was taken to remove names where discrepancies were found based on documents or information. If your name has been removed from the final voter list, there is no need to worry.
How to Add a Name to the Voter List

As the Bihar elections draw closer, people are closely monitoring the voter list. Many voters often fear that their name may have been removed from the final voter list. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has clarified that if an eligible voter’s name has been mistakenly removed, they can update their information in two easy ways.
Easy Process to Add Name Online
If you want to add your name online, the process is quite simple:
Log in to the NVSP portal or download the Voter Helpline App.
Go to the portal or app and fill out Form 6, the prescribed form for new voter registration or name addition.
When filling out the form, you must upload your personal information along with the required documents.
After submitting your application, you will receive a registration number or application number, which allows you to track the status of your application online. This method is especially useful for those who have a smartphone or computer and an internet connection.
A reliable offline application method
For those who cannot apply online or prefer to do so offline, this traditional method is available:
Contact the Booth Level Officer (BLO) in your area.
The BLO will provide you with Form 6, which you must fill out and submit along with the required documents.

If you have previously received a voter card, you must also share that information.
The BLO will collect all the documents and send them to the Election Officer in your area.
After checking and verifying the documents, you will receive an acknowledgement for your application.
How to Check Your Name
First, it’s important to check if your name is on the final voter list. You can check online by visiting these websites: https://www.eci.gov.in or https://voters.eci.gov.in. Here, you can search by entering your EPIC number or name. You’ll also need to select your district and Assembly Constituency. This will tell you whether your name is on the list.
