The Bihar government has launched e-Aadhaar services at over one lakh Anganwadi centers, allowing children to be issued Aadhaar cards within a month of birth. The primary goal of this unprecedented initiative is to ensure that children receive direct and timely benefits from all central and state government schemes. Learn about the simple process of obtaining Aadhaar cards for children at Anganwadi centers, which will also provide significant health card benefits.
Aadhaar Service Facility Launched at Anganwadi Centers
According to the Women and Child Development Department, Aadhaar Service Centers are being opened in all Anganwadi centers across the state. This is where children’s Aadhaar cards will be made. This new system will directly link a newborn’s Aadhaar card to the Aadhaar number of one of the parents. This will record both the child’s identity and family details simultaneously.

Direct Benefits of Government Schemes
This robust system will ensure that children receive benefits from all health and education department welfare schemes, including vaccinations, without delay. Previously, benefits were available based on the parents’ Aadhaar number, but now they will be available directly based on the child’s own Aadhaar number. Approximately 756,000 pregnant women in the state are being specifically informed about this new system.
Newborns to Receive Health Cards After Aadhaar Cards
After Aadhaar Cards are issued, the government will also issue Health Cards for newborns. This health card will significantly help maintain a well-organized system for children’s health. Through this, children will receive direct access to vaccinations and other health programs. This step is crucial for monitoring and protecting children’s health.
