Bihar Govt Approves ₹6000 Additional Honorarium for BLOs Before Assembly Elections

Big Relief for BLOs in Bihar

Before the assembly elections, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is fully engaged in appeasing every section. Big decisions are being taken every day by the state government, and important announcements are being made. In this episode, an important decision has been taken regarding the honorarium of BLOs and supervisors engaged in special voter revision work in the cabinet meeting held today (Tuesday) under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. This decision is a big relief for the ground-level workers engaged in the smooth election process in collaboration with the Election Commission.

In today’s cabinet meeting, the Bihar government has approved the proposal to give a lump sum additional honorarium of ₹6000 to BLOs (Booth Level Officers). Under this, an amount of ₹51 crore 68 lakh 40 thousand has been approved to give a lump sum honorarium of ₹6000 in addition to the annual honorarium to 77,895 BLOs and 8,245 BLO supervisors for special intensive revision work. This is a tribute to their tireless efforts and dedication.

The risk allowance of these employees also increased

The government has given a gift not only to BLOs and supervisors, but also to other important employees. Giving a big relief to the teachers and non-teaching staff of aided secondary schools (which were earlier under the non-financed education policy), ₹3 billion 94 crore 41 lakh 24 thousand rupees have been approved for their salary payment.

Along with this, emphasis has also been laid on creating a better education environment in secondary and higher secondary schools. Apart from this, the personnel of the Bomb Disposal Squad will get 30% of their basic salary monthly as Risk Allowance, which will be separate from their dearness allowance (DA). This recognizes their dangerous and important work.

A recent increase in the pension of pensioners

Let us tell you that in late June, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had announced an increase in the pension of the elderly, widows, and disabled, after which an amount of ₹ 1227 crore was transferred to the accounts of pensioners on July 11 for the increased pension. Under this, ₹ 1100 was sent to each pensioner instead of ₹ 400.

1 crore 11 lakh beneficiaries got direct benefit from this historic step. The Bihar government is running the Old Age Pension Scheme for the elderly, the Disabled Pension Scheme for the disabled, and the Laxmibai Social Security Pension Scheme for women, which is an effort to empower the weaker sections of society.
