Aadhaar Card Update– Good news for Aadhaar Card holders. UIDAI has once again given a big relief to crores of Aadhar card holders of the country. The last date for uploading documents in Aadhar card has now been extended by one year. Earlier the last date for free Aadhar update with document was 14 June 2025 but now it has been extended to 14 June 2026. UIDAI has given this information by posting on social media platform X.
For whom is Aadhaar update with documents necessary?
It has been said by the government that those who have an Aadhaar card of 10 years or older will have to update their Aadhaar with identity and address proof, that is, if you have a 10-year-old Aadhaar card and the Aadhaar has not been updated even once in this period, then you will have to get it updated, otherwise your Aadhaar card may also be cancelled.
These documents will be required for Aadhaar update
For Aadhaar update, you will need two important documents. First identity card and second address proof. Usually, Aadhaar center charges Rs 50 for Aadhaar update but according to UIDAI, this service is free till 14 June 2026. You can give PAN card as identity proof and voter card for address.
How to update Aadhaar by yourself
- Go to UIDAI website from mobile or laptop. After this click on the option of update Aadhaar.
- Now enter your Aadhaar number and login using OTP. After that click on document update and verify.
- Now upload the scanned copy of Identity Card and Address Proof from the drop list below.
- Now click on submit. After this you will get a request number and the form will be submitted.
- You will also be able to check the status of the update from the request number.
After a few days your Aadhaar will be updated.
