Today, great news has come for the people living in Delhi. The Delhi Cabinet has approved an additional subsidy of ₹ 30,000 for installing 3 kW solar panels on the roof of houses. This information was given by Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

The Delhi minister said, “In an important cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, an additional subsidy of ₹ 10,000 per kilowatt has been approved for the people of Delhi, which will be around ₹ 30,000.”

Let us tell you that the central government gives a subsidy of up to ₹ 78,000 for installing solar panels on the roofs under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. With this initiative of the Delhi government, it will become even easier to make your electricity bill ‘zero’.

You will get a ‘bumper’ subsidy of ₹ 1,08,000 on a 3 kW solar panel

With this historic decision of the Delhi government, the people of Delhi will now get a total subsidy of ₹ 1,08,000 on installing 3 kW solar panels. This includes the subsidy of ₹ 78,000 given by the central government, along with an additional subsidy of ₹ 30,000 given by the Delhi government.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa also said that the government will partner with banks so that people can easily get loans at the cost of installing solar panels. He said that people will not have to spend money from their pockets and there will be a saving of ₹ 4200 every month. This is a big step in taking Delhi towards solar energy.

Let us tell you that under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, 60 percent of the cost of installing solar panels up to 2 kW and 40 percent of the additional cost for solar systems of 2 to 3 kW capacity is provided as a subsidy. The subsidy limit has been limited to 3 kW capacity.

This simply means that beneficiaries will get a subsidy of ₹ 30,000 for 1 kW solar, ₹ 60,000 for 2 kW, and ₹ 78,000 for 3 kW. The additional subsidy from the Delhi government will add to this amount and make the total benefit extremely attractive. This is fantastic news for both the environment and your budget.
