Beware of keeping duplicate PAN cards; the government will take strict action!

Another big news is waiting for PAN card holders’. If you also have a duplicate PAN card, then today’s article is for you. To eliminate duplicate PAN cards, the government has started the PAN 2.0 project, in which PAN card holders will get a new PAN card with hi-tech features. In such a situation, now people have duplicate PAN cards. They should be careful, because due to the features of PAN 2.0, it will be very easy to catch duplicate PANs.

The government has made it clear that no one will have to apply for PAN 2.0. The government will automatically deliver new PAN cards to the people. At the same time, until you get a new high-tech PAN card, your old PAN card will remain valid. Let’s know what the punishment is for having a duplicate PAN card.

 

This punishment will be found on duplicate PAN

If you have more than one PAN card, then your second PAN card is duplicated. If you do not surrender it, then according to the 272B section of the Income Tax Act, you can face a fine of Rs 10,000. In such a situation, those who have a duplicate PAN card should surrender it to NSDL or UTIITSL.

These features will be in PAN 2.0

 

QR code: The new PAN card will have a scanning feature, which will have a QR code attached to it. QR code will make PAN verification easy, and this entire process will be done through an online medium.

 

Easy interface for banking: This will be a robust and easy interface for all banking and financial services, with the help of which the process of transacting through banks will be easier.

 

In the Unified Portal, PAN 2.0, the work for which PAN is required. It will provide a single portal for all of them, with the help of which taxpayers will be able to manage their PAN account easily.

Common Business Identifier: There is a demand from corporate companies that they have to keep different types of numbers, but now it will not happen. The same PAN will be used for all small and big work related to business.

 

Cyber Security: Keeping in mind the frauds happening through PAN. PAN 2.0 will be equipped with cyber security features, which will help prevent cyber frauds in the future.
