Bank Holidays: December ends in just a few days. At the end of December, 2025 will also come to a close. As a result, banks will be closed for eight consecutive days. Bank Holidays in These States

On Wednesday, December 24th, banks will be closed in Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Mizoram due to Christmas Eve. Additionally, on Thursday, December 25th, banking services will be unavailable nationwide for Christmas. Following this, on Friday, December 26th, there will be a post-Christmas holiday in Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Mizoram. This means that banks will be closed for three consecutive days from December 24th to 26th in these three states. December 27th is the fourth Saturday of the month, so banks across the country will remain closed. December 28th is a Sunday, so banking services will once again be unavailable nationwide. In many places, banks will be closed for five consecutive days.

On Tuesday, December 30th, there will be a bank holiday in Meghalaya on the death anniversary of freedom fighter U Kiang Nangbah. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, December 31st, there will be a bank holiday in Mizoram and Manipur due to New Year’s Eve and the Imoinu Iratpa festival.

In total, banks will be closed for approximately eight days across various states during the remainder of December. However, these holidays vary by state. Digital services such as UPI, mobile banking, and net banking will remain operational as usual during these days.

December 22nd (Monday)

Banks in Sikkim will be closed again due to the Losoong/Namsoong festival. Banks will be closed for three consecutive days here.

December 24th (Wednesday)

There will be a holiday for Christmas Eve in Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Mizoram. December 25 (Thursday)

Banks will be closed nationwide on Christmas.

December 26 (Friday)

Banks will remain closed in Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Mizoram even after Christmas. Banks in these states will be closed for four consecutive days.

December 27 (Saturday)

It’s the fourth Saturday of the month, and all banks will be closed.

December 28 (Sunday)

Banks will be closed nationwide due to the weekly holiday.

December 30 (Tuesday)

Banks will be closed in Meghalaya on the death anniversary of freedom fighter U Kiang Nangbah.

December 31 (Wednesday)

Banks in Mizoram and Manipur will be closed on New Year’s Eve and the Imoinu Iratpa festival.
