PM-Kisan 20th installment: If you are waiting for the 20th installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, then this news is of your use. It is being claimed in many media reports that the 20th installment of PM-Kisan will be released in the next few days. Let us tell you that the 19th installment was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February 2025, benefiting more than 9.8 crore farmers including 2.4 crore women beneficiaries. Earlier, the 18th installment was released in October 2024 and the 17th installment in June 2024.
Under PM-KISAN, the central government distributes Rs 6,000 annually to eligible farmers in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 every four months. This amount is deposited directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism.
App launch in 2020
The PM-Kisan Yojana mobile app was launched on 24 February 2020. This app has been developed to bring more transparency and access to farmers. The PM-Kisan mobile app is a simple and efficient extension of the PM-Kisan web portal. In the year 2023, this app was launched with an additional face authentication feature.
This app enabled remote farmers to do e-KYC by scanning their face without OTP or fingerprint. The portal, mobile app provide services like self-registration, benefit status tracking, facial authentication-based e-KYC. Farmers in remote areas can complete e-KYC by scanning their face. More than 5 lakh Common Service Centres (CSCs) have been engaged to facilitate registration and fulfill mandatory requirements.
The postal department provides the facility to link/update mobile number with Aadhaar for farmers benefiting from PM Kisan Yojana. There are some mandatory details required for enrollment in the scheme. Apart from the beneficiary’s name, date of birth, bank account number, IFSC/MICR code, mobile number, Aadhaar number, other details available in the passbook are required.
