What is ABHA ID, and what are its benefits?
The full form of Ava ID is Ayushman Bharat Health Account. In simple words, it is a digital wallet for your health. It securely stores all your medical information, which includes past treatments, medical conditions and allergies, blood type, medicines you take, hospital tests, and reports. This eliminates the need to carry files between different hospitals and doctors.
Doctors can access all your records with your permission and start appropriate treatment accordingly. Repeated checks will eliminate the need for wrong medication or treatment. Your medical information will be completely under your control. No one can access it without your permission.

Can you get free treatment with ABHA ID?
ABHA ID does not guarantee free treatment. You need a separate Ayushman card for free treatment. Ayushman card is available only to those who meet the government’s eligibility criteria. However, an ABHA ID is open to every Indian citizen and is easy to create. This card only works to digitally secure your medical information.

How is an ABHA Health ID created in India?
1. Creating an ABHA ID is very easy. You can create it in just a few minutes. First, visit the website healthid.ndhm.gov.in.
2. Select the “Generate via Aadhaar” option.
3. Enter your Aadhaar number.
4. An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
5. Enter the OTP and create a unique ABHA address.
6. This will become your digital health ID. You can then download your ABHA card.
Will ABHA ID be useful abroad?
ABHA ID is currently designed for India’s digital health system. It cannot be used directly for treatment abroad. However, if you need to show your medical records to a hospital outside India, you can share it with the doctor or hospital in PDF or digital form. This can become a means of sharing international medical records, but it cannot be used directly in foreign systems.
