- Go to the nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre and fill the Aadhaar update form.
- Give your 12-digit Aadhaar number, new full name and marriage certificate.
- If your marriage certificate has your partner’s name, you can also give a copy of their Aadhaar card with the Aadhaar linking form.
- Pay a fee of Rs 50 to change the name.
- After checking, you will get a slip with a Unique Update Request Number (URN).
- Within 90 days, your new name will be updated in the Aadhaar card. You can check the status on the UIDAI website.
How to update the name online?
- Go to the official UIDAI website https://uidai.gov.in
- Click on Update Demographics Data in the My Aadhaar section.
- Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code.
- Select the Name option.
- Enter your new name.
- Upload the scanned copy of your marriage certificate and husband’s Aadhaar card.
- Pay Rs 50 as fee.
