Aadhaar New App: Now there will be no need to stand in long queues and visit Aadhaar centers to update Aadhaar card. UIDAI i.e. Unique Identification Authority of India is coming up with a new app which will make the life of common people even easier. Now you will be able to update many important things related to Aadhaar yourself from home – be it your mobile number, name, address or correction in date of birth.

New app, new way

UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar has confirmed that a new mobile app has been developed which will provide many services related to Aadhaar card to the people in a digital way. The most special thing about this app will be that through this you will no longer need a photocopy of the Aadhaar card. If you want, you can share the entire Aadhaar or masked (ie with hidden numbers) Aadhaar through QR code.

This system will be so secure that no one will be able to access your Aadhaar data without your permission. UIDAI intends that this new technology should provide maximum convenience to the general public and also stop fraudulent activities related to Aadhaar.

Aadhaar update from home

According to UIDAI, more than one lakh machines will be used to implement this facility across the country. About 2000 of these machines have also been upgraded to the new tool. Now you will have to go to the center only for biometric information i.e. fingerprint and iris scan, all other updates can be done from home.

Do you want to change the mobile number in your Aadhaar? Or do you want to register a new home address? Maybe there is a spelling mistake in the name, or the date of birth is wrong? Now to correct all these, you just have to use this app.

Aadhaar will be shared through QR code

This time UIDAI is working towards strengthening digital security. The new app will provide the facility to transfer Aadhaar from one mobile to another or from one app to another through QR code. Meaning if you are checking in at a hotel, or have to show your identity in a train, then there is no need for a physical card – just scan the QR code from the app and share the information.

The big advantage of this is that Aadhaar data will now be in your complete control. You will decide which information you want to share and which not. This will also maintain your privacy and increase the level of security.

Now government database will identify you, not documents

According to the report, UIDAI will now take information from different government databases to make and update Aadhaar card. Information like your name and date of birth will be pulled from databases like 10th mark sheet, driving license, passport, PAN card, PDS and MNREGA. This will not only reduce the chances of documents being fake, but people will also not need to submit documents again and again. Electricity bill database can also be added to access, which will make it even easier.
