Aadhaar Card Update: The Aadhaar Card has become one of the most crucial documents in today’s world. It is necessary for various purposes, such as banking, government schemes, obtaining SIM cards, and applying for passports. In this context, even a minor error can lead to major issues. This is particularly true if your father’s name is inaccurately or partially recorded on your Aadhaar card, as it may create complications in the future when trying to obtain a PAN card, open a bank account, or apply for a passport. Thankfully, you can rectify this mistake from the comfort of your own home. Let’s take a look at the straightforward process.
How to correct father’s name in Aadhar card?
UIDAI has simplified this process significantly. You can choose to do this either online or offline.
How to correct your Father’s name on the Aadhaar Card Online?
To begin, visit the official UIDAI website.
Log in using your Aadhaar number.
To log in, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number, which you need to enter to proceed.
Next, select the ‘Update Demographics’ or ‘Update Aadhaar Details’ option.
You will see various options to update different details. Choose ‘Father’s Name’ and input the correct name.
Now, you need to upload a valid document (such as an identity card or birth certificate) that contains your father’s correct name.
After accurately filling in all the information, submit the form.
You will receive an Update Request Number (URN) that allows you to track the status of your update.
Offline Application Process
If you don’t want to proceed online, you can visit your nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra. There, you’ll need to fill out an update form, providing the correct information. Submit the form along with the required documents and complete your biometric verification. You’ll then receive an acknowledgement slip containing your URN number. This number is used to check the status of your update. However, for both these methods, it is necessary that your mobile number is linked to Aadhaar.
