The state government believes that tissue culture technology is more effective, safe, and profitable than traditional plant production. This technology allows farmers to produce a large number of healthy and disease-free plants in a short time. This will provide farmers with better quality plants and significantly increase crop productivity.

Applications invited for setting up a tissue culture lab
The Horticulture Directorate has invited online applications from interested organizations and individuals for setting up a tissue culture lab. Selected applicants will be permitted to establish labs in the state, promoting horticulture development with private participation. The government aims to improve the quality of plant production and directly benefit farmers.

How Much Subsidy Will Be Provided and How Much Will It Cost?
The estimated cost of each tissue culture lab is βΉ4.85 crore. Of this, 50 percent, or approximately βΉ2.42 crore, will be provided by the government as a grant. The applicant will have to bear the remaining amount. This financial support will provide an opportunity for private investors and agricultural entrepreneurs to come forward.

How Will Farmers Directly Benefit?
