The tenure of the 7th Pay Commission will end on 31 December 2025. In this situation, around 1 crore central government employees and pensioners across the country are eagerly waiting for the announcement of the 8th Pay Commission.

It is expected that after the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission, the salary of central employees and pensioners may increase by 30% to 34%. The fitment factor may also rise between 1.83 and 2.46.

Along with this, state government employees and pensioners will also see a good salary hike. In Madhya Pradesh, salaries and pensions may increase by around 15% with the new Pay Commission. Employees and officers who have completed 10 years in service may get a salary increase of ₹5,000 to ₹11,000 per month. This hike will benefit about 7.5 lakh regular government employees and 4.5 lakh pensioners in the state.

MP: Budget Planning Starts for 8th Pay Commission

If the 8th Pay Commission starts next year, it will affect the budget of Madhya Pradesh. That’s why the MP government has started planning the next budget. This is being done to understand how much extra money will be needed if the new pay scale is applied. A committee has also been made to check the cost of salary, pension, and other expenses.

More Money Will Be Spent from Budget

Right now, about 33% of the total budget is used for paying salary and pension. After the 8th Pay Commission, this may go up to 37% or even 40%. The Finance Department has asked all departments to give their plans based on the 3% yearly salary increase.

Salary May Increase Like Last Time

When the 7th Pay Commission came, salary increased by ₹7,000 to ₹18,000. At that time, a formula of 2.75 times was used to fix the new salary. If the 8th Pay Commission uses 3 to 3.25 times the current salary, employees can get a good increase in their pay.

Which States Will Get 8th Pay Commission First?

When the Central Government starts the new Pay Commission, states also get advice to follow it. But each state decides based on its budget and money.

Last time, after the 7th Pay Commission started, states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat applied it early. But it took 6 months in Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. The Centre started it on 1 January 2016, but MP gave it from July 2017.
