Another major update is here for some central government employees. The central government greenlit the establishment of the 8th Pay Commission earlier this year. In April, they will reveal the names of the commission’s panel members. Next month, we can expect the announcement of the chairman and two additional members for the new pay commission. Once the panel is set, they will determine the fitment factor to boost employee salaries.
Media reports suggest that a fitment factor of 2.86 might be applied for salary increases in the new pay commission. If this is implemented, the minimum salary for central government employees could rise from 18,000 to 51,000, while the maximum salary might reach around 642,000 rupees.
What will the salary be for a DSP?
On another note, central employees at levels 9 and 10 will also see significant salary increases. For instance, Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP), Accounts Officers, and those involved in operational or financial management fall under level 9, currently earning 53,100 rupees per month. With the 8th Pay Commission’s recommendations, their salaries are projected to jump by about 98,000 rupees, pushing their total to over 150,000.
How much will a Senior Section Officer earn?
Similarly, Senior Section Officers and Assistant Audit Officers at level 10, who handle audit or higher administrative tasks, will see their salaries rise from 56,100 to approximately 160,000 rupees, with an expected increase of around 104,000 rupees.
