8th Pay Commission Update: The central government can now constitute the 8th Pay Commission any day. The government is expected to approve the members of the new pay commission committee soon. How much will the salary increase?
Whenever a new pay commission is announced, the salaries of employees jump like a leopard. The fitment factor in the 7th Pay Commission was 2.57, which allows for a significant increase in salary upon its implementation. If the fitment factor remains 2.57, then the minimum wage will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 46,260.
According to this, a monthly salary increase of Rs 28,260 can be observed. Apart from this, the minimum pension will increase from Rs 9,000 to Rs 23,130. If, for some reason, the fitment factor is fixed at 1.92, then the minimum salary can be up to Rs 34,560. However, no official announcement has been made regarding the salary hike yet.
Central employees will get arrears.
Central employees can receive the arrears for the last three months in their April salary. The government had increased the DA by 2 per cent in this half-year, which has now increased to 55 per cent. There is a possibility of receiving arrears for January, February, and March, along with the April salary. If this happens, then the salary is sure to increase. However, official information has not been revealed yet.
