The wait is over. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently held a virtual event to transfer the 19th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. This time, a total of 9.7 crore farmers received the funds directly in their Aadhaar-linked accounts. The event was streamed live from the auditorium at the Nawabganj development block.
During the program, block chief representative Ravi Pratap Singh emphasized that farmers can use this money to purchase fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides for the upcoming Kharif season. Ram Kishore, who oversees the seed warehouse and agricultural protection unit, shared crucial details about the scheme with the farmers.
He went over how to register as a farmer, complete KYC, and apply for the program. However, some farmers are still not receiving their payments. Here’s what to do if you think you’re eligible but haven’t gotten the money:
1. Make sure your e-KYC is up to date, your bank information is accurate, and check for any pending verifications.
Ineligibility can stem from certain economic and professional criteria set by the government. Farmers in these categories won’t receive payments:
– Institutional Landholders: Those who own large agricultural land under an institution’s name.
– High-Income Earners: If you paid income tax in the last assessment year, you’re not eligible.
– Government Employees: This includes both retired and current government staff, except for Group D employees and Multi-Tasking Staff.
– Political Representatives: Ministers, MPs, MLAs, mayors, and district panchayat heads are excluded from the scheme.
– High-Pension Earners: Retirees receiving over Rs 10,000 a month in pension are not eligible.
2. Not completing your e-KYC can also be a reason for not receiving funds. e-KYC is now a must for all PM-KISAN beneficiaries. Farmers can complete their e-KYC:
You can access the PM-KISAN portal online at pmkisan.gov.in. Alternatively, you can visit your nearest Common Service Center (CSC) or authenticate through Aadhaar OTP.
3. Issues with Bank Account or Aadhaar Information
If your bank account isn’t linked to your Aadhaar or if there are mistakes in your application, your payment might be denied. Farmers should make sure to:
– Correctly link their Aadhaar number to their bank account.
– Enter accurate bank details on the PM-KISAN portal.
– Provide the right land ownership documents.
What is PM-Kisan Yojana?
PM Kisan is a government initiative fully funded by the Government of India. It ensures that funds are directly transferred to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries. Under this scheme, farmers receive a total of Rs 6000 per year, distributed in three equal installments. Every four months, Rs 2000 is deposited into the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of qualifying landholding families.
