Hero VX2: Hero MotoCorp is ready to further enrich its electric lineup under the Vida brand. The new VX2 electric scooter will be aimed at family buyers with a more conservative and conventional approach to its design, moving away from the sporty appearance of its current V2 models. The scooter goes on sale on July 1.

Refined Yet Familiar Design

The VX2 has been previewed in advance of release and has recently been photographed at a dealer. The stark, angular look of the Vida V2 is contrasted by the VX2’s more conventional and less aggressive styling, which may appeal more to casual riders. A lower TFT screen, physical key slot, and revamped single-piece seat all add to its affable styling. A flat seat and altered switchgear also set the VX2 apart in terms of looks from its cousin.

Shared Components with V2

While the VX2 goes in a different direction in styling and certain features, it will be expected to carry over a majority of its fundamental mechanical configuration from the V2. That means the battery, motor, chassis, and electronics. This decision will enable Hero to utilize existing resources to the best degree possible and maintain efficiency in production, without losing out on performance and reliability.

Engineered for Practical Use

Hero appears to have engineered the VX2 with utility and comfort as priorities. The flatter seat, for instance, implies easier pillion access and greater ride comfort over extended periods. The inclusion of a physical key slot over full digital operation implies a more old-fashioned and user-friendly ownership experience, probably targeted at older or family buyers who appreciate ease of use.

Expected Pricing Strategy

Today, Hero’s Vida V2 range begins at ₹74,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the V2 Lite variant with a 2.2kWh battery and reaches ₹1.20 lakh for the V2 Pro. Given that VX2 will be sharing fundamental components with the V2 models, an identical price segment is on the cards. Its more minimalistic feature set may, however, assist Hero in pricing it just that bit lower for the budget-conscious urban buyer.

Launch Timeline

The VX2 will first be unveiled on July 1, with broader availability soon to follow. With the rise in demand for electric scooters and family users growing more interested in EVs, the VX2 might prove to be a top player in the mass market electric two-wheeler space.
