TVS Motor has finally launched its most affordable electric scooter, the Orbiter. Priced under one lakh, this scooter enters the market with a stylish design, practical features, and a strong range. It is positioned as a budget-friendly EV that could attract buyers shifting towards electric mobility. With comfort, storage, and modern technology, Orbiter is expected to challenge Ola and Ather in the growing EV segment.
TVS Orbiter Design
In terms of looks, the Orbiter carries a youthful and funky design that stands out on the road. It borrows some styling inspiration from the iQube but also adds fresh elements to create its own identity. The seat length of 845 mm ensures comfort for both rider and pillion. A wide 290 mm floorboard gives extra legroom and helps with easy luggage placement. The handlebar design provides an upright riding posture that makes long city rides more convenient.
Battery and Range
Powering the TVS Orbiter is a 3.1 kWh battery pack. According to IDC figures, this battery delivers a riding range of up to 158 km on a single charge. Buyers can switch between two riding modes – Eco and Power – depending on their need for efficiency or performance. The scooter is also equipped with regenerative braking technology, which helps recharge the battery slightly while riding. Details about motor specifications and charging time are yet to be revealed by the company.
Features and Technology
As expected from TVS, the Orbiter comes loaded with modern features. LED lighting is present all around, giving it a premium touch. Riders also get a USB charging port to keep devices powered during travel. The scooter supports OTA updates, ensuring software features remain up to date. A digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity brings turn-by-turn navigation directly on the screen, making daily commutes easier.
