Triumph Tracker 400
Triumph has built the Tracker 400 on the same platform as its existing Speed 400. While the platform is the same, the personality is entirely different. Where the Speed 400 offers a modern roadster feel, the Tracker 400 evokes the spirit of classic flat-track bikes.
Interestingly, this bike features the same engine tune as the Thruxton 400. This means it’s not just retro in appearance, but also slightly more aggressive in terms of performance. Triumph has positioned it as a niche but stylish option within its 400cc portfolio.

Design
Looking at the design of the Triumph Tracker 400, it’s clear that it hasn’t been over-styled. The flat, long seat, the slim fuel tank with knee recesses, and the short, stubby tail section all contribute to a proper flat-tracker stance.
The round LED headlamp further reinforces its retro character. The side panels are in the tracker style, a seat cowl is present, and the bodywork is kept to a minimum. This bike will appeal more to those who prefer a clean, purpose-built design over flashy graphics.
Engine and Performance
If we talk about its engine the Triumph Tracker 400 uses the same 398.15cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine found in the Speed 400. The only difference is that its tuning is similar to the Thruxton 400. This engine generates approximately 41.5 bhp of power at 9,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm.
It features a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch, which makes for smooth city riding and instills confidence during spirited riding. This engine is already known for its refined nature and strong mid-range performance, and the Tracker 400 exhibits the same characteristics.
Features
Besides the retro look, Triumph hasn’t compromised on features. The Tracker 400 comes standard with full-LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument cluster, ride-by-wire throttle, traction control, and dual-channel ABS. This means that while the bike may look old-school on the outside, it’s completely modern on the inside. This balance is what sets Triumph apart from other brands.

India Launch
The biggest question is when this bike is being manufactured in India, then why not launch here. According to reports, Bajaj is currently not in the mood to launch the Triumph Tracker 400 in India. The reason is clear that it is a niche product and the demand of flat-tracker style bikes in the Indian market is considered limited.

However, the expectation is not even completely over. Due to the revised GST rules it takes more tax on bikes above 350cc, which is why Bajaj is working on a downsized 350cc engine. In such a situation, the Tracker 350 can be seen in India but even then launch will completely depend on market response.
