Launch
According to media reports, the third generation Renault Duster will go into production by September 2025 and its market launch can be seen in the first quarter of 2026. However, Renault India has not yet officially confirmed any date. At the same time, the hybrid version of Duster can come within 12 months of the launch of the petrol variant.
There are also plans for a 7-seater Duster, known globally as Renault Boreal, which could reach India by late 2026 or 2027. Apart from this, Nissan will also launch its derivatives of the Duster and 7-seater versions with slightly different features.
Engine
The new Duster will come with multiple powertrain options, which could include: 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol (for base variants), 1.0L turbo or 1.3L turbo petrol (for mid and top trims) and Strong Hybrid (exclusive to high-end variants).
Sold as the Dacia Duster in global markets, the SUV is powered by a 1.6L, 4-cylinder petrol engine (94 bhp) paired with two electric motors and a 1.2 kWh battery. This configuration produces a total of 140 bhp of power.
CNG version
Renault may also launch a CNG version of the Duster, although it will not be factory-fitted. It can be retrofitted through companies like Minda Westport. Apart from this, Duster Electric is also in the planning stage, but its launch date is yet not confirm.
