Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the best-selling cars in India. Due to its sporty look, great performance, excellent mileage, and compact size, it has become common on Indian roads. It is liked as a city and family car, but now it is also being bought as an affordable sports car. Now going a step ahead, Suzuki’s Netherlands division has launched the new Allgrip FX model of Swift. And its most special feature is its off-road capability! So will this ‘wild’ Swift make a splash in India too? Let’s find out.

Swift Allgrip FX

The biggest feature of the Swift Allgrip FX is that its off-road capability. Yes, it is somewhat like a 4X4! Apart from this, a roof rack has also been added to the new model. This will not only be useful for keeping the spare wheel and luggage on snow roads but will also increase the weight-carrying capacity of the car. The new model is specially designed for off-roading in the mountains. If this model comes to India, there will be a huge surge in demand for this car. It can also give tough competition to low-budget off-roaders like Jimny and Thar!

Price

The Swift Allgrip gets the same 1.2-liter naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine as the global model, which comes with a 12V micro-hybrid system. This engine will generate 82 bhp of power and is also mated to a 5-speed manual transmission system. The entry-level front wheel drive Swift starts at approximately 21.65 lakh rupees in the Netherlands country, and the swift Allgrip FX model is more expensive than this, priced at approximately 27.62 lakh rupees. It will be interesting to see what its price will be in India.

Strong design

To make it attractive, an LED light bar has been provided along the front grille. Also, high-gloss black trims have been given for the wheel arches, which give it a look of strength. The new model also features Suzuki’s logo and Allgrip badging.

Inside the cabin, Suzuki Netherlands has taken full care of the premium feel in Swift. The layout is the same as the Indian model, but the interior has features like leather seats, rubber mats for easy cleaning, a Dometic cool box, and a storage box, which make it even more special.

Features

The new Swift model is one of the smallest and most economical cars with an Allgrip system. The Allgrip system maintains a strong grip in areas with low traction. When the front wheels are slipping, the power is transferred to the rear wheels, which improves stability. This makes the car easy to drive even on bad mountain roads. The design of this new model is very similar to the current model available in India, but its off-road capability gives it a different identity.
